[Obviously, given Cross's news...Elizabeth won't be here to organize things. They've managed before, but she had been one who took such charge of things, it'll be difficult to live up to the absence. Raven is used to functioning while hiding whatever she's feeling though, so even with the sadness, time to start thinking about the coming winter.]

So we've had light snow off and on, including snow forts, and snow-people. Snowballs should be fine, but I don't think any of us want to get hit with anything in them other than snow... Anyone have any idea how supplied we are for food? Heating, either in the form of blankets or firewood, and have a plan for how we would set up a fire and care for it? How about medicines? Kanda-san, Okumura-san, Lavi...any idea what we should be in for, with the depth of winter heading in on us?

Been getting ready for it all year, the last thing I need to get is shovels in case we get a blizzard. The generator has lots of gasoline canisters but not kept in the same room. [In case of fire.] Russian winters are just long and cold, lots of snow. Food's been stored up, mostly canned goods that need minimal heating. Been trying to salt the meat we've gotten from the animals we've hunted.

Other than the shovels, do you know of anything else that needs doing?

Need to make sure the awning is stable and strong enough to handle a lot of snow.

What's involved in that? I can come support it while it's firmed up, or I can do manual labor if that's more useful.

Need to put longer beams up against the top, jam them there so it looks like part of a capital N.

Can that be done easily? Soon? Kanda and I were planning on doing a quick last minute hunt....

Might take me a bit to find some wood for the task but yeah, it won't take long to actually put up.

Winter's winter, it'll last for like four months or so.

Yes Kanda, but some of us aren't used to RUSSIAN winters...I think I arrived in the middle of it last year, but the winters I was used to before this were mild, at best. Hence why I'm trying to see who might or mightn't be used to it, or what we need to do to be ready.

Do you want to try and do anymore last minute hunting? I'm willing to help.

I can be ready very fast--so just let me know. Otherwise I'm helping Lavi with the awning and fortifying it in place.
