... I hope I am using this device correctly.

I'll be blunt about this. The place in which most of us live is utterly miserable. I've seen more cheer in a graveyard.

I cannot be the only person who wishes to change this. I've some ideas, but I'd like to know anything else that people want before I start making plans.

Any offers for assistance would be greatly appreciated as well.

Yes that is my wish. I refuse to, in complete truth, live in a place like this and raise no objection to it. Some things I can't help, the rain of blood, for instance, makes me sick -- but for that which I can change, I will.

[She raised an eyebrow.]

I'll take that to mean you'll be unhelpful as well. [seriously what is with you ninja?] Because I can't hunt, or cook. Does that mean I should starve? Does that mean children and women should starve as well?

No need to get defensive. I never said I wouldn't help. Children and women can hunt and cook just as well as we do, no point in trying to make them look feeble when they are not. [ No, no he was not a 'pig' as someone pointed out |: ]

All I am saying is that everybody here needs to learn how to do some basic hunting and cooking in order to survive. This is not our world, and we've been thrown in here because we make good 'toys', but if you look at it practically, it all comes down to survival. We've all got powers or special knowledge, some of which may not exist in our own worlds, but if we don't have the basics covered, we're pretty useless. One needs to adapt in order to survive, don't you think?

I like your idea of bringing everyone together once in a while, of looking out for each other. I would consider that teamwork, and a team is only as strong as its weakest link.

You raise good points. However that seems a waste to train people who have no capability in such areas -- where frankly such skills would be wasted on someone like me. There is no use teaching blind men to see and the lame to walk.

Cooking, perhaps I could try? But hunting? No.

Especially when as you say my 'special' skill lies in this, organizing and helping those who cannot otherwise help themselves. That and sewing.

Necessity can do wonders to one's ability to learn. Have you even tried hunting? If you got lost in the forests all by yourself, would you sit there and let yourself die? Or would you rather try and catch something to eat?

And if anybody needed help, I could teach them. [ See? He is being helpful. ]

Also, I don't agree with your view on not being able to make blind men see and lame ones walk, merely because it doesn't apply here. You are neither blind nor lame, for example, and I think you could manage, in addition to your other skills. [ He means no disrespect, but he is thinking like a shinobi. ]

I am already functioning on necessity. [No, really. You try and do a corset up by yourself.] More then you could possible imagine, frankly. But I'm not complaining beyond doing what I can to make this place better for more then just myself. [She sighed.]

I haven't, and I don't want to. I already know there is one hunter here, now there is you as well, and who so ever you know. I imagine there is more as well that can be helpful. It'd be foolish of me to join you, when frankly I'd just slow you down, physically outmatched as I am in skill and ability. I couldn't in the end, be left alone to do so.

[And she's thinking like a Queen. Delegation of skill was part and parcel to that.]

His idea of bare necessities were obviously far different from hers, but the point was that they were now both stuck in a totally different world to what they were used to, and change had to come from within. If you haven't, then you cannot say for sure that you 'can't'. It's like sitting at the foot of a tree and wishing it'd grow lower so you could reach the highest apple. And what'd happen if said hunter or hunters are kidnapped or go missing?

We cannot afford to depend on each other all the time. Things could go wrong, and we must be prepared enough to face change. We also don't have to hunt in groups. Plus there are always the supplies in Credinta whenever we could get there.

All I'm saying is that we don't label so and so as unable to do so and so, but teach them, to the best of our abilities, to learn how to hunt, cook, and be knowledgeable of basic first aid. By hunting I mean something simple as fishing or trapping rabbits or birds. It doesn't have to be elk or deer. It's for everybody's benefit, no harm can come out of it, I am certain.

[ He pauses here, sighing, then shakes his head. ]

I am not trying to find fault in everything you say, lady. I quite like your ideas. I just want to make sure that we're all able to fend for ourselves when the rest of us... are gone. I'd hate to see one of us not make it even when they had a chance.

Your point is valid, but for now, until some kind of system is set up, any such things will have to be postponed. But I do humbly suggest you find others, I'm really no good for any kind of hunting. Because we are not alone, and we do have each other. [And really, learning Russian seemed more important right now.]

Again, I will send anyone that wants to learn such things to you. You're right, the more people with basic skills, the better.

Mm. [ He thought about things for a moment there before bringing his legs up to sit cross legged on the chair he was sitting on, though one could only see his knees. ] And learning the native language. [ He laughs here. ] Though everyone can tell I am not from here.

That is obvious. So just lie, say you're a traveller from the East, so I understand it, China is the other side of Russia, and you'd easily pass as someone from there.

And if China is not particularly good with Russia? [ He smiled here ] Mn. A little research will clear that up.

What did you want to start with first?

No one is good with China, because China does not care for anyone but itself. [She doubted that had changed much.]

But they won't arrest you for just being Chinese, I don't think.

And cleaning, cleaning and resource gathering. Just planning at the moment mostly. There's a lot to plan, and I need to know what I am working with, and what is wanted.

So again, if you have any other suggestions, it'd be very appreciated.
