 [You see this face? This is the face of someone who needs a great deal of alcohol.

Her hair is actually too big to fit on the video feed. Which means you only see the chicken that's stuck on the top when she bows her head. Which is often enough, because it weighs more then you think it would. Not that it's the only thing on it -- there's every other kind of terrible looking 'decoration' on it, too. She's got a head ache just thinking about brushing it all out.]

Has anyone had any luck getting theirs out?

If you had mentioned this earlier I could have picked up a few modern hair ties for you. They are elastic so they can hold your hair up like Kanda's ponytail without bothersome pins.

... Kanda would be the boy who surprised me suddenly enough I fell into the pool, wouldn't it?

I see. I don't blame him. Fool I was standing so close by the water, when I cannot swim and it scares me so.

[Frown for that.] How irritating for you to be forced to idle in this place?

I have work that I can do here, there is just no pay.

I do not think he had much reason to learn to be honest. I am sorry my friend was a problem for my lady.

...Is it? [He doesn't mind there being no pay here. It's just some things need to be done.]

Neither did I, though I've got to admit, it scares me badly and nearly drowning didn't help. [muttered quietly to herself.]

Those of us that are willing can do a lot of that kind of work here, it's not all of us that can work amongst the others and not be noticed and thrown in jail...

If the pool was still here I would offer to get fabric for a modest suit for milady and see if Raven or Becca would instruct you. [He's sure one of them knows how to swim.]

I am hoping that when everyone is fluent in Russian that they will be able to find small jobs that do not require a permanent address or identification.

It's alright, it is hardly like I am going to go swimming in the Thames after all. [Because it was the fastest way to catch plague, and smelt horrid. To start with at least.]

I'd be happy to do the same. When the time comes at least.

And the river here is a bit too rocky for any kind of swimming. [Even fishing was difficult.]

My lady might have to wear more time-period appropriate clothing.

Milady, I cannot shoot you. I do not like using firearms and do not have on on my person.

They have dresses still, my lady, and proper...ah...garments to take the place of your corset and petticoats.

Where would one... get some of these clothes?

Cross would probably be able to get them without suspicion. And he would probably be able to more accurately guess the sizes my lady needs.

[This whole thing is just getting worse. And vaguely stress inducing.]

My lady can also practice wearing them in the secrecy of your apartment to get used to them. Putting the device face down will keep you safe from being seen by accident as well. Or in my lady's nightstand.

It's not so much that... Just...

[How on earth did one explain it? She felt naked practically thinking of it. Exposed. Vulnerable. Clothing was one of the ways women in her time were allowed to express themselves.]

I'd feel very, very small.

There are items that can sit quite ah...large on one's body, my lady. I have a piece of clothing they call a "hoodie" that is rather large and baggy, it keeps me warm. Women have drapes and shawls that they use as well.

I see. I will look into it, truly. I want to help as much as I can, and I'll do what needs to be done...

Do not feel that you must do anything, my lady. There are enough of us here to do everything, some just need to have someone behind them to kick them into action.
