[Rin is standing in the make shift kitchen room of the apartment building. He has a pan in one hand with rather tasty looking food sizzling inside of it. It looks like there's fish involved and he's grinning proudly.]

Oi. Yukio! Come up here and get some food. It's fish! Happy birthday!

[Kuro bounds out of nowhere up onto Rin's shoulder and mews excitedly. "Happy birthday Yukio!"]

Oh, and I guess if anyone else wants some you can come get it. I got some extra fish. All you new guys should know this is the kitchen so don't wreck it. There isn't anywhere else to cook unless ya want to start a fire outside.

Before the new year, while they're still preoccupied by the holidays. Figured that'd give us the best shot at remaining unseen. But I do have a rule, you listen to me. If I say run for it, run.
